A Contemporary Work of Art – The Saeco Talea Touch

International Design Acclaim Bestowed on New Super Automatic Home Espresso Machine

CLEVELAND – June 24, 2007 – Talea Touch, a super automatic espresso machine by Saeco, featuring the innovative
Milk Island has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for excellence in product design. One of the most famous
international acknowledgements in the field of design for more than fifty years, the Red Dot Design Award is given
annually to products that are distinguished for innovation in design. This year, more than 2,500 products from 43
countries were evaluated by an international panel of judges and experts in the field. An official award ceremony
will take place in Essen, Germany on June 25, 2007, after which the Talea Touch will receive a place in the Red
Dot Design Museum, the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design.

“Red Dot is an internationally recognized quality label for excellent design,” said John McCann, CEO of Saeco USA.
“Saeco has always been a brand with the highest quality and passion for coffee, leading the industry with home
espresso machines with new and superior technology. The Talea Touch extends that passion to the design of the
machine. We aimed to create a product that would not only provide consumers with the luxury of superior coffee,
but with an aesthetic appropriate for their home. We believe we’ve accomplished this with Talea Touch, and we are
proud to receive the Red Dot Design Award as a result.”

One of the seven new Saeco home espresso machines designed by BMW Group DesignworksUSA, the Talea Touch boasts sleek lines, sophisticated artisanship and inventiveness. This super automatic espresso machine features the Milk Island, an exclusive innovation of the Talea line. An external accessory composed of an attachable carafe with a tube that dispenses steam, the Milk Island transforms milk into creamy froth-- and espresso into an enjoyable experience--all at the twist of a knob. The Milk Island is representative of the Talea line’s innovative appeal that satisfies coffee connoisseurs, latte artists, and espresso and cappuccino baristas.

Other distinctive advantages of the Talea Touch include its Touch Screen (an easy-to-use and intuitive display),
the SBS – Saeco Brewing System (an elegant knob for an intense and creamy coffee), Touch Lift Technology
(a touch-sensitive cup tray, adjustable to the height of the cup), and the ceramic grinder (which prevents coffee from
coming in contact with metal). For more information on the product, technology or detailed model features, log on
