Saeco Takes an Individual Approach to Vending Machines
CLEVELAND - October 1, 2007 - As a leading manufacturer of espresso machines, Saeco knows the value
of customized coffee drinks. Whether it's used to jump start your day, or as an afternoon treat, coffee is a highly
personalized beverage.
It is with this philosophy that Saeco launches three new vending machines that make individualized coffee available
at the touch of a button. Named after the world's most valued gems, the Saeco Topazio, Zaffiro and Cristallo (Italian
for Topaz, Sapphire and Crystal) each offer several styles of freshly brewed coffee. Beginning with a supply of whole
beans, each cup is brewed exactly as selected. With customizations that include milk or other soluble powders, the
final beverages are sure to please any coffee palate. Machine maintenance is minimal because the vending machines house large quantities of coffee in a freshly sealed operating unit. Maintenance is also made efficient, by ensuring products are stocked proportionally so that all restocking can be completed at once, eliminating the need for multiple service trips. Additionally, an efficient brew group, Saeco's patented technology, is removable for easy, environmentally friendly cleaning.
Topazio
Offering five different, fresh-ground, gourmet coffee beverage options, the Saeco Topazio is ideal for small office
environments catering to staff and guest preferences. The highly efficient, easy-to-use Topazio brews individualized
beverages in seconds and comes with an optional cabinet for cup storage, to adapt the machine from a countertop
to a free-standing unit. The 2.2-pound bean hopper provides a large enough supply for 180 portions to be brewed
before replenishment.
Zaffiro 300
Unique to the Saeco vending line, the Zaffiro 300 provides the option for pre-ground coffee supplies and whole
beans, enabling decaf and regular coffee in the same machine simultaneously. The machine also boasts a bill
validator and coin changer for a solution that is user-friendly in vending environments.
The Zaffiro can be placed on a countertop or on a custom cabinet. In addition to the eight selections, the Zaffiro can
produce decaf versions of coffee drinks, and prices can be programmed with the time management program in the
machine's digital display. The Zaffiro holds 8.8-pounds each of coffee beans, three optional powder bins, plus 220
8-ounce cups.
Cristallo 400
With twelve hot beverage selections and four adjustable product bins for sugar and other customized options,
the Cristallo can dispense a truly unique beverage based on the user's preferences, even allowing for a personal
mug or paper cup dispensement. A boiler with temperature regulation provides additional quality control.
The Saeco Cristallo's 400-cup capacity is designed to minimize maintenance and service. With the ability to
hold 6.6 pounds of coffee beans, 6.6 pounds of powdered milk, 11 pounds of instant tea, 14 pounds of powdered
chocolate and 400 8-ounce cups, the Cristallo can brew 320 cups with no replenishment.
All models have a sleek exterior color of champagne and deep red jewel tones and feature an LCD panel to
display pricing. Other shared features include a coin changer, door lock and key included, and adjustable burr
grinder. The Topazio and Zaffiro models operate from a plumbed water line or from an external water tank without
the need for an external pre-pump. The Cristallo and Zaffiro machines offer separate whipper chambers and
dispensing tubes to eliminate cross contamination.
